So another week draws to a close. It's Thursday, and I believe this is when I wrote my last entry. Perhaps, I should make this a Thursday thing.....Hmmmm, we will see.
Yesterday, Scott proposed an interesting question via Twitter that asked, "Who would you want to narrate your life?" Upon reading this immediately the first name that popped into mind for myself was Morgan Freeman. He has one of those calm collected voices, that makes you just want to listen. Yet with just the intonation alone, he can go from serious to funny to playful and back to serious. Just watch the difference from God in the "Almighty" movies to Mob boss in "Lucky Number Slevin." See how he changes from talking about flightless birds in "March of the Penguins" to talking murder with Brad Pitt in "Se7en"
Or even here which is a great scene from "Shawshank Redemption."
Make you feel inspired? I am. But I could picture my life as being told in that voice whether it be the highest peaks, or the lowest valleys. It's just one of those things that "feel right."
Back to reality! Jennie and I saw "The Forbidden Kingdom" last night. It's the newer kung fu sensation out now, featuring movie star martial art legends Jackie Chan and Jet Li. As I know it, this is the first movie the two have ever done together. (If I am wrong please correct me). That said, this movie is a testament in that rite alone. Seeing the trailer made me eager to watch this as it seemed to be filled with your typical fantasy, Oriental Legend, and Kung Fu action. Little did the trailer lead on, there are very horrible scene cuts! That aside, it was a pleasant movie but I found to be typical and pretty predictable (which movie really isn't these days?) One of the funniest scenes, as quoting my friend Alan, consists of Jackie Chan, Jet Li, and urination. I laughed a good bit at that one. Revisiting my old rating system from the Wrestling Mayhem Show, the Doc Rem-o-meter, I give this movie a "Jimbo" (4 out of 5)
Well thats all I have for the 5 of you today. Time to come down from cloud nine.
